Kitties and Cakes

Stef is Super had a birthday bash last weekend. Baby G and I made a cake to celebrate! It's a Bette Midler cake. I baked the cake, iced it and added a tasty border of slivered almonds. Baby G did the Bette portrait in whipped icing. It was a success! Not only attractive, but tasty (thanks, Betty Crocker!).The kits have been using these hot summer days to perfect their lounging positions. As you can see, they're doing well.

What a difference a day makes

I had a lovely weekend. We saw the Tom Waits Peep Show by the Broken Clock Cabaret on Friday evening. We had a lovely housewarming/birthday party on Saturday, complete with feta bacon burgers AND dinosaur cake! And we had another nice small gathering Sunday with some of stef-is-supr's out of town friends where we dined on leftovers. Yum!

I ridiculously stuffed myself with food all weekend. Thankfully this evening we are erecting (tee-hee!) the badminton net and holding our first match at the new house.

Weekend Wrapup

Blogger ate my original post. (Ahhh, technology...) Anyhoo, here's a brief recap:

  • I am glad Paris Hilton is going to jail.
  • I'm tired from partying all night Saturday with Mel-a-rific n' pals. (Have fun stormin' the castle!)
  • Moving plans are moving right along.

Tired

The party Saturday went very well, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and we received many lovely gifts. Sunday we didn't do much, except sleep and watch tv. Needless to say, I'm really tired this week. The shootings at VT brought gloom to fatigue.

This coming weekend I plan to get some RnR and sunshine, as we are heading West to go camping. The tent has actually been set up in the yard since Saturday and we've used it as an outdoor living room until yesterday, when it rained. Now we have a soggy tent. Hopefully it will dry out in today's forecasted 80 degree weather. It has to be rolled up tomorrow night for the trip.

Baby G, Stef-is-super, and I are taking the plunge tonight and co-signing a lease on a lovely property. Soon we'll be living one neighborhood over from D&M of dogblog fame and about 10 miles north of the Booklahver. Small world, eh? Fabulous!
