Another hypocrite for Christ

Dear Ted,

Instead of focusing all your energy on making sure gays and lesbians couldn't legally marry, perhaps you could have focused on, oh, I don't know... your own marriage?

See you in Hell,

Does anyone else see the eerie physical likeness to RTG? They could be twins! Ewww!

The screen shot below is from the cached version of Ted's former website. Now that he's been fired, it's gone. Also, the title of his book is now kinda weird.

Might I remind you that this all took place in my hometown? Yeah...I am happy to see dear "Pastor Ted" go down, especially because I grew up with people who went to his church who would regularly tell me that I was going to hell, even though I went to church regularly, because it wasn't their "perfect" church.
Yeah for gay male escorts who stand up fro their brethren!

PS...you forgot Pastor Ted's myspace, http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=65374563
Alas, there are no comments, but his top friends are the new "pastors" at his church

That link was interesting --- no other pictures, no real information. It was mainly a rehash of his former website.

Part of me feels bad for the guy. His church taught him to hate himself because he was gay. Of course he's going to engage in self-destructive and dangerous behaviors like drug-use and anonymous sex! Maybe if he had been accepted and loved by his peers, perhaps he would have had the self-respect and self-confidence to realize he was capable of being gay and a Christian. He certainly wouldn't have gotten married to cover up his true self or aggressively fought to keep gays from having civil rights.

I feel really badly for his wife and 5 kids. They're the ones who are suffering because of Ted's selfish behavior. I hope he can reconcile with them and I hope he gets the therapy he needs. He is obviously a very confused guy. And when I say therapy, i DON'T mean more brainwashing from James Dobson et al. I mean genuine therapy to figure out who he is and how to live his life in a healthy way from here.

On the other hand, I'm really tired of these uptight conservatives going on the down-low, then taking the talk-show circuit for all it's worth pushing their new book of sob stories, of being forced to come out, of their extreme self-loathing. Okay, you hate yourself! We get it! Oprah needs guests, I suppose.

Sheesh...
