You go away for a few days...

...and the world keeps spinning. Indeed.

Let's see... Gerald Ford & James Brown passed away. Saddam Hussein was hanged for crimes against humanity. The war in Iraq rages on and Iraqi refugees are shut out of America. Oprah made me cry for an hour with her very special episode on helping the orphans of South Africa.

Closer to home, the holidays went smoothly and were quite a delight. I think this year was the best Christmas I've had in a very long time. Not just because I scored some nice presents, but because my family was in good cheer, my plane rides were uneventful and quick, and I had a roaring good time on New Years Eve with my pals. Baby G even treated me to a street vendor hot dog early Monday morning. My first meal of the new year, ending a night of overindulgence and dancing, a very fun start to a new year.

that was a fine fine hot dog.

re: Ford. at least state of TX employees have another day to get over their hangovers. the dude seemed like a really nice guy, but unfortunately i will always remember him as the president who while waving, fell down the airplane steps. he gave American citizens (and Chevy Chase routines) some true physical comedy; unlike Dubya who's so disappointing he's barely funny anymore. thank god for the Colbert Report.

Dude, Baby G has a job. She ought to be able to buy something more substantial than a street vendor hotdog! Did you get chips with that?

Eh, we spent all our money on cheap booze and dancing girls. Our last $4 went toward that hot dog...that tasty tasty hot dog...mmm...
