Hillary is a Bitch
That is the invariably the underlying reason that people claim they won't vote for Hillary Clinton for president. If not that, then she is too divisive and not electable. To the former I say so what? We've seen what the "aw shucks, nice guy" routine has gotten us over the last 6 years. Even if the "bitch" label wasn't just an attempt to undermine Hillary's accomplishments, I'd take a bitch over an insecure bully anyday. As for being too divisive, let us not forget every presidential campaign that I can remember. I also do not believe that any liberal independent or Democrat would vote for McCain the Pander Bear or Giuliani the Wolf in Sheep's clothing or any of the other Republicans over Hillary. And if that doesn't convince you, so what? As Devilstower at DK put it:
In a twist that's more delicious than hot chocolate on a cold morning, it's the traditional white male politicians who have suddenly all but slipped from the public's imagination. Or at least they have on the Democratic side. Across the isle, politics looks remarkably familiar. You've got an aging hawk anxious to prove he's still a tough guy by putting other people at risk, a philandering ex-mayor hiding behind an image cultivated on the talk show circuit, and a governor who has changed his convictions with every fluctuation of the political climate. Right behind this set are a senator who wants to block the teaching of evolution (that one announced today), and a congressman who wants to put a wall around the country. This is a crew that could be interchanged with the Republican cast from 1980, or 1950.So whether your for Hillary, Obama, Richardson, Edwards, or miscellaneous, its no matter because this time the Democrats won't get screwed by a senator from Massachusetts.

Unfortunately, there's always room for "blunder," especially when the evil Republocrat propaganda machine is involved. (I say "republocrat" because there are many Dems who might as well be Republican...)
As a liberal-leaning Independent, I would love love LOVE to see Hilary & Obama for 2008. I liked John Edwards a lot, until he totally let Dick walk all over him in the '04 VP debate. Sigh.
Honestly, I don't have a lot of faith in any politician(s). It's so sad that all I feel I can hope for is mild competence and the ability for our new leaders to piss in the toilet instead of all over the world.
Wow, the crude-o-meter is high this morning...must be Monday. :-)
I agree with you about not trusting politicians but I get excited in my lady parts about Hillary and Obama running together. Unless they totally screw us over with stupid speeches that make me want to cringe AND vote for someone else. Damn you FrankenKerry, damn you to HELL!
I *heart* DM. They make me feel that this generation is aight.

Well, Kerry was a poot, but I still voted for him. Oh gods, the alternative was spleen-shriveling.
In terms of electability, at this point in time, I think Obama has it more than any of the others. I have great respect for Hillary Clinton, but I think most of the masses unfortunately still cannot accept a smart, outspoken woman who isn't primarily concerned with her looks; hence their intended less-than-flattering term for her.
I do like Edwards, but he needs to add some toughness to that Mayberry image he's got to make it work.
I've heard good things about Richardson over the years, but have just now kinda read up on him. Interesting guy--definitely has the experience, especially with foreign relations. He does have this slight Gore-tendency to sometimes speak/act before thinking though.
These 4 are really the only ones worth considering. I love Kucinich, but he's got less a chance than Clinton.
Addendum. While we are waiting for America to grow up, at least we can make fun of the dumb bastards.
This piece has an interesting point: would African-Americans vote for an African African-American (Obama)?
