Thus spake Chattanooga

This year, Memphis, next year, Chattanooga! (Or not.) My conference was exhausting. It's not that I did a lot (I mostly sat down all day), my fatigue was probably due to the windowless rooms and endless power point presentations which sucked my will to live. It did end on a good note (for me, anyway). The last pres I went to was about anime in the library. We watched clips from various films and got to flip through some manga. I should have been a young adult programming librarian...they get to have all the fun.

I had such a busy weekend I forgot to do my homework and even forgot to bring my notebook with me this morning so I'd have something to write on in class today. Oh well, it's not like we're going to be quizzed. I went to a bead show Saturday and spent all the profits I made last week on my earrings and then some; however, with the wholesale priced stuff I scored I can make more jewelry for more profit without raising my prices. I'm happy, my customers are happy. Yay! Oompa!

Baby G and I watched Project Grizzly Friday night. (Missy, you've gotta watch this!) It's a documentary about a crazy Canadian guy who feels compelled to create a bear-proof suit(!) so he can get up-close and personal with wild grizzly bears for his "scientific" research. HI-larious! Saturday night, we hosted some friends for a game of Trivial Pursuit and VH1's PopUp Video game. I haven't had such a good time in a while.

I got half of my taxes done last night. Sheesh. Talk about cutting it close this year. I don't know what's wrong with me -- I usually have them done in February. This year has been an exercise in procrastination that borders insanity. Woo!

I'm with ya there re: slacking on taxes...I'm glad I have just decided to take the standard deduction instead of itemize, because otherwise I would be SOL on time to finish!
Also...there are times when being the YA librarian does rock...when you get to play with glitter and glue for your job, shopping at the dollar store on work time for summer reading prizes, and reading manga and keeping up with the pop culture. I am actually trying to come up with a program dealing with anime and the first amendment right now, because I have about 20 8th grade boys who love anime, but are typical teens who don't know diddly about the first amendment (see McCormick Foundation study re: knowledge of first amendment rights versus members of the Simpsons).

Is Project Grizzly supposed to be funny? Or is it tragically funny like that other grizzly movie? Just wondering.
The Sneeze is up to it's old tricks: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=9508334956
Wish I knew hyperlinks....but I don't. Do you? Just wondering.

B:

the tag to insert a hyperlink in your comment is this ---

a href="address" [what shows up] /a

Be sure to put your < > signs in front of the first "a", after the last ", and around the "/a". Hope that helps!

Oh, and project grizzly isn't intentionally funny, but the director certainly was trying not to laugh, I'm sure!

Taxes?!?!

Oh my GOD! I totally forgot...

Huh huh. Ok, not really. But, as we speak, I am currently stalling on starting/finishing them...I like close calls, though.

...and, for some unknown reason, I told my ladyfriend that I'd do her's too...um, why? I don't know...

Less than two weeks til camping! So, are we gonna be able to dance Sunday night, or what?!?!

You are the only person I know who would mentally connect Chattanooga and Zarathustra. I'm impressed.
