Love thy neighbor (but only when he's just like you)

What would Jesus do? Why, he'd hate your gay ass, you silly fag!

You know, every time I hear that Christians are being "oppressed" in this country, I have to laugh. America is full of Christians, like 80+% of the population is Christian. The President is Christian (wait, wait -- gotta choke back tears here --- I'm okay now), 95% of Congress is Christian, Christian churches are EVERYWHERE, there are Christian tv channels, radio stations and newspapers... need I go on? Christians have all the rights they can ask for in this country and that's fine; some of them need to realize, however, that there are other people who live here too that also deserve those same rights.

So why does a 22-year old feel it necessary to ask her university to repeal its diversity and tolerance measures that protect gays and lesbians from harrassment and discrimination on campus? Because she's a "Christian." You know, a follower of Jesus, that guy who told his followers to hate, crush, and destroy those that may be a little (or a lot) different from them? Yeah, he's the one. [Insert eye-roll here.] How interesting this young woman is fighting for her right to be intolerant...

Happy Wednesday, Gentle Readers! Woo! The 21st century is lookin' good, real good. Apparently, the U.S. just isn't happy unless there's a group of people to hate for some stupid reason.

Don't worry T, someday scientists will find evidence that homosexuality is a hardwired trait and bigots will be exposed for what they are. Don't forget that eugenics and phrenology were both once serious disciplines, and that blacks were once believed by mainstream america to be mentally inferior. This too shall pass.

I know... I know. Sigh. I just wish stupidity was painful. Perhaps then people would actually think instead of relying on what some closeminded "leader" tells them to think.

I just threw up a little in my mouth. And then I wondered what kind of crappy-ass admission policies G.Tech has. Cuz if they let her in, they would let anyone.
What I really don't get, and I didn't read the whole article because I didn't want to lose my dinner, was, had she "won", what would she do? Go around, screaming at people she believes to be gay and assaulting them? Because apparently this tolerance policy is the only thing that's holding her back.

Who knows? She sounds like the kind of person who writes letters to the editor if she sees her neighbors park more than a foot away from the curb.

Being Christian doesn't mean being closeminded. I wish those crazy fundamentalists would figure that out. They'd suffer constipation a lot less often.
