Placenta and all...
The early hours of 2006...well spent. So far: I've lost a game of Trivial Pursuit, seen The Family Stone (ehh...), and finally gotten a beer buzz after 4 days of drinking. I realize the booze all goes to my ass, but what can you do? To make things more annoying, there have been multiple published reports of various individuals losing weight over the past year in odd current magazines and newspapers; however, my recent goal has been to obtain fuzzy nirvana for at least for a half hour through the ridiculous consumption of fermented hops. Goal: achieved.
The New Years Eve party went well...many lovely friends stopped by for well-wishing and tasty nibbles (of the buffet, not me). My current houseguests, Mel-a-rific and Laura, seem to be enjoying themselves. Tomorrow may bring a visit to Graceland...I don't know. I must admit there are some faces missed at the party this year --- but I realize geography wins every time. Oh, and also cemented was the fact that flaky friends will always be flaky no matter how nicely-worded the invitiation. C'est la vie. I can only ask so many times before I get tired and stop asking. Small lessons learned...but I have so many more to accomplish.
Goals for this year:
- Treat my body as a temple, not a trashcan.
- Collect all 8 Narnia action figures from Micky D's. (I've got Peter and Aslan so far.)
- To stop worrying and learn to love the bomb.
- Get published.
- Travel more.
- Realize that better living through chemistry may not be the answer. Or maybe it is...only time and prescriptions(?) will tell.
Honestly, 2006 can only be better than '05...not that '05 was all that bad...but it could certainly have been more pleasant (yeah, no thanks to you, bitches upstairs and RTG). Happy New Year, Gentle Readers. May you find peace and love.

tiny, baby, my sweet lil' oil puddler: i had a wonderful time this holiday with you and our houseguests. it was great to meet Mel-a-riffic in person, and as always to see the inimitable Laura again--both impressive triva players. i admire your goals for 2006, and will always find you irresistably charming. please note, however, that there may be some conflict in the beginning of the year in your achieving both Goal 1 and Goal 2--unless you decide to feed several homeless people on the spot with Happy Meals, sans toys. xoxoxoxo
Hmmm...what if in addition to the various Narnia-related diaramas I create with the happy meal toys, I also create diaramas using the happy meal food itself? Those burgers have a shelflife of many years...
