The End of Christian America?

Jon Meacham's essay on the decline in the numbers of Christian Americans is a milder take on the notion of a "Post-Christian" nation.

I don't think we're post-anything yet; there's simply too much change going on. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as major shifts do not happen overnight. However, I am keen to see how these changes will affect society and politics in the future.
