Back in the saddle again...

The gay rodeo was fun. I'm glad I didn't sit next to any peta folks, though...they would have crapped their pants during the "goat dressing" competition (teams of 2 put underpants on a goat while trying to beat the clock). The goat was freaked at first, but then realized it was easier to just submit to its fate. I also saw the "Drag Race" competition: teams of 3 tried to corral a young bull and the one member of the team dressed in drag had to ride said bull across a certain line. They were also timed and judged for costume. One guy's wig looked like he had stuck his head in the cotton candy machine. Good times!

All in all, the people there were very nice. Gay cowboys are just so sweet! We did see one guy get stomped on when he fell off the bull. The EMTs helped him walk out of the ring. Nobody lasted the legendary eight seconds, but 4 or 5 seconds is heart-pounding enough! Afterward Baby G bought me a t-shirt that says "Ride with Pride" over a silhouette of a cowboy and bucking bronco on it. How awesome is that?! I totally want to go again next year.

It is the week that never ends...

Tonight we're off to the opening ceremonies of the Gay Rodeo. Yes, a bunch of big manly cowboys who happen to like other cowboys are gonna ride broncos, rope lil' dogies, and the like all weekend long. While one could read many double entendres in that sentence, one really should just get one's head out of the gutter.

This week was one that seemed to drag. I got up this morning and walked for 20 minutes, but three hours later, my endorphin buzz is but a memory. My legs still feel like jello unfortunately. It's a small price to pay to the fat gods so I can fit into the pair of jeans I bought 2 weeks ago.
