Okay

I've had a cup o' joe and now that the caffeine is coursing through my system, I feel better.

I also want to say I'm really into bunnies right now, as in, I'd like one for a pet. Have any of you, Gentle Readers, owned a rabbit? Any advice for a novice?

Isn't he a cutie?! ----->

I used to have some bunny, TR.

I was in middle school, so I don't have a firm grip on the details, but if I recall, they were very cat like only much more dumb. They can be litter box trained, although not perfectly...you will still be picking up pellets now and then. They're cute...they like to play around the yard or house...they don't like to be squeezy cuddled like Bojangles or Daxie often enjoy...and you have to regularly clip their claws and sometimes trim their teeth (kinda weird, I know...but you don't have to do this for all rabbits).

On that note, they can also be destructive with their chewing and digging habits. But, I think if you do it full-assed as opposed to half-assed, you can end up with a very friendly and well-behaved pet.

There's my expert opinion on the matter. Happy bunny-ing!

Thanks, M.

Very good to know. I know bunnies like to romp around and play and even "give kisses"; however, the chewing factor is a bit off-putting. They're just so damned cute, though! Ahh!

Of course, I would obtain a bunny from a rescue (of which there are a couple in town). I'd probably get an adult, too, since they're usually already litter trained, spayed, and used to people. You KNOW Daxie would love to have a nice bunny pal...so would I.

I had a girlfriend with a bunny pet... it ate the sleeve off my sweater... while I was wearing it.

But it was soft and cute, but so is my cat Sweet Pea... He has bunny fur.

:)

Yeah, Daxie has bunny fur...i should just enjoy the pictures and forget about gettin' the real deal.

I get carried away sometimes. Surprise surprise.

Clipping teeth? I'll take picking up dog crap anyday!

Actually I read if you let them chew on wooden toys there's no need to clip their teeth: they get worn down naturally.

My experiences:
The fun wears off after two weeks. Bunnies aren't as good with self-grooming as cats, so you have to give them a little help, or they'll get a little stinky. Also, sometimes when you pick up a bunny, they will pee all over you. A bunny bladder holds more pee than you'd think.

Do bunnies get along with cats?

Apparently bunnies and cats get along well.

As for me owning a bunny, I believe the "spell" has worn off. I've got two lovely kitties and that's more than enough pet for anyone.

Thanks for your comments, Gentle Readers!
