VP's Secret Service Sued
Every two weeks or so I get a new shiny Texas Observer in the mail. Aside from Texas politics, they also syndicate line-cutter* Molly Ivins and Jim Hightower. I was floored to read that Colorado resident Steven Howards was arrested by the Secret Service for speaking his mind to the VP (whose name should never be mentioned in polite society). Exact quotes on what Howards said to unnamed chode are here and here. Now compare that to the intrepid "investigatory" journalists in Vail. More shocking was how I had not heard of this earlier. It happened in early October! What could possibly have been going on around that time that was sosarcasmooo important? The Denver Post brought this story back to life yesterday. Now the man is suing the SS for violating his 1st and 4th amendment rights and is seeking damages for legal fees and "damages that include loss of enjoyment of life." *yeah, she cut infront of TR, BG, Mell-a-rific and I when we went to see Barack Obama speak. I let it slide so she could kick cancer's ass instead of mine.

While D.C. is always a frustrating news story, the TX Observer's story on how non-winning construction bids for Texas tollroads still get million-dollar "consolation" payments is what's burning my butt. I have to pay tolls AND some company that did NOT build the damn road gets millions of dollars?
I went into the wrong business. I should start a shitty contracting company, lose bids on TX roads, and make millions!
Sheesh.
but who is this unamed choad you speak of??? is he like Lord Voldermort, whose name should not be mentioned?
rock on, democracy.
Unnamed choad is Dick Cheney. Read the sentence directly before it. :-)
dude, did you just spoil my sarcasm with earnestness? thanks, you're the best.
