Fall tv

It's officially been fall for over a week. One wouldn't know it from the 90+ degree weather. To combat the heat and humidity, I've been hanging in the house, sipping icy PBR, making jewelry, and watching the new offerings from hollywoodland. Here's what I've been catching:

  • Studio 60. It's feel-good but in an odd way. Show writer Sorkin's West Wing dealt with important issues and presented a nice little world where a thoughtful Democratic prez led the country through various trials while keeping the Constitution relatively intact. (Imagine that!)
His Studio centers around an ex-druggie and that guy from Friends while they run around backstage, writing for a weekly comedy show. No world-saving here. Oddly, I am learning things about tv ratings that I never knew before. Whether that is a good thing, only time will tell.
  • Heroes. Kinda cheesy, quite predictable. But it's about comix, superheroes and conspiracy theories! How can I resist?
  • Ugly Betty. It was cutesy/sweet and the fabulous Salma Hayek (the producer) made a cameo, but I don't see it keeping my attention very long. Why watch fictional characters be snooty and mean about fashion when I can watch Project Runway and see the "real" thing?
  • America's Next Top Model. It's actually in its seventh season. Sadly, I've seen them all. The good thing is, the girls are as dumb as ever. The bad news is, the girls are as dumb as ever. Oh, and Tyra Banks' ego has its own chair on the judges' panel now. How nice.
  • Battlestar Galactica. Baby G and I watched the recap show last night on SciFi. I have to admit I am very intrigued. I plan to watch the season 3 premiere this Friday. Damn you, Baby G! You and your deliciously nerdy pursuits!
  • The Office. Fucking hilarious! The season premiere a couple weeks ago made me laugh so hard I cried. As a fan of the original British version, I admit I was resistant to the American interpretation; however, Steve Carell and gang have definitely won me over. I usually tune in to watch My Name is Earl as well.

Yeah Tiny Robot for watching my favorite show on TV: The Office!! I finally got to see most of the first episode on Youtube and it was so freakin' hiliarious!!! I watched last week's too: "Oh my God! Dwight got a hooker." Love it love it love it.
Sad to hear that Ugly Betty is not so hot. I love Salma Hayek and America Vasquez and I only want good things to happen to them. I can't watch it because I'm at work. Single tear...
I think I will miss Project Runway tonight but that doesn't mean I can't see it 55 more times on Bravo.
Yeah!

Yeah, Bravo milks the Project Runway cow for every drop. Sad but true: I've seen every episode this season at least twice, if not 3 times. (It's mindless tv that I can "watch" while crafting or waiting for the washing machine to finish a cycle.)

I do luff the tv; however, I am well-aware of its brain-sucking capabilities.
