We're in

Got all the stuff moved into the house, thanks to D&M, Abbe, Ackkapoo and Mel-a-rific. Now Baby G and I navigate towers of boxes and over-stimulated kittykats to get from the kitchen to the bedroom to the bathroom to the patio, etc. This is not a complaint, merely a statement.

After 4 weeks, it is so good to have all my crap again. Last week, I was telling myself that I could be a minimalist, that I could live without things. I was wrong. I love my junk. It gives me comfort. I know I can't take any of it with me when I go, but that doesn't matter. I'm here and I'm going to enjoy what I have now. There, I said it. I'm a materialist! Woo!

Spent a nice evening Monday in Planet Houston with Baby G's family then another lovely evening back home Tuesday with M of D&M's family. The fireworks show we were going to see last night got rained out, but we ended up [illegally] shooting off our own later. We also enjoyed a few beers and watched a little tv together. Very American of us. Happy Independence Day, everyone.
