I'm back
to let you know
I can really shake em down
Baby G and I found a place to live this weekend. Yay! That's a major load off our shoulders! Traveling really wiped me out and it was very hard to get out of bed this morning.
Work today has been a game of catch-up. There were many irrelevant emails to sift through and many junk emails to delete. I'm a bit sick after all the coffee I just drank. I have reports to write and files to transfer. Super fun times.
After today, I only have 4 days left in this office. The past few days at work have been strange. People come up to me to either congratulate me or make me feel guilty about leaving. They all tilt their heads a little to the side, say their piece, and then walk away. Some have asked me to lunch, some have ignored me altogether. It's weird but expected. I will miss some colleagues quite a bit. Others, I'll be pleased to get away from. Thankfully, no one has tried to hug me yet. (Please, God, if you're listening, do not let RTG try to hug me next week!!)
Speaking of RTG, you're probably wondering who I'll blog about once I move. Have no fear, I'm confident there will be someone odd to blog about. There always is. The latest RTG-is-a-weirdo news: he was at a military history conference over the weekend. Woo! Ah, to be a fly on the wall at that meeting... I probably would have been praying for a flyswatter to take me out of my misery.
GET WELL SOON!
Warm wishes for a speedy recovery to Gentle Reader M of DogBlog. May you be back to 100% ASAP!

Scene: a fluorescent lit, tiny office.
Character: suited pseudo-intellectual with numerous advanced degrees. His shirt is dingy ivory with a coffee stain. Grasping a cup with "Endeavor" in scripted print on the side. He stands in the doorway while a glamorous woman in her late 20s tries to ignore him.
[tilts head to side]"So when areya leavin'? Cuz we'll all miss you here, you know. Personally I can't think of how we'll get along without-chya. Yep, it's gonna be hard. But if it's what you want. Come here, give me a hug."
And scene.
That's what I picture some suit saying to you. Possibly RTG, maybe some other PhD-dweller.
What's your new addy? Living in Austin or Gtown? Give me the scoop, por favor!
Love ya! Miss ya!
