When the Cat is away, the Mice will play

Get this: I'm in charge of my department today. Scary, I know. The interim boss is out so I get to pretend to have some 'power' for the next 7 hours. Good times.

Of course, NO ONE in the office is doing any work. There are multiple personal phone converstations going on, RTG and DBS are talkin' their usual shit and stroking each other's fragile male egos, the ladies in the back of the office are laughing at jokes or each other, I just don't know, and I can't wait for lunch.

So, you can see how well the Reign of Tiny Robot is faring--it's like I don't even exist. Guess I'll check out some albino creatures instead. Thanks to MV for the link.

Congratulations on your battlefield promotion, TR. Don't let your staff love you too much, or someone in authority might flip you the gig full-time; that's not a good thing.

That albino gorilla looks suspiciously like one of my old undergrad professors. The lobster, not so much.

Understood. Commence Project Mayhem.

It could be kind of exciting. Think of exciting things to 'arrange' for the afternoon. Plot during lunch!

Since you're in charge, fire RTG.

I would fire him, but he just left for lunch. This upcoming hour of peace may save his hide.

For today, anyway.

do you stagger your lunch break so that you're in the office when he's not and not in the office when he's there?

Since A)RTG is in your same department, B)I think SBD is too and C)you're completely awesome, I think it's quite a testament to your ability that you were interim interim boss and RTG is not. See, PhDs can't buy you leadership or character abilities as evidenced today. I think you deserve two claps of excellence! *clap clap*

Proph:
RTG usually takes his lunch whenever, as do I. I think today he was frettin' about there being no librarians in the office and stayed until I returned at 1pm. Hopefully, he suffered many hunger pangs while I was gone. Oh, snap!

Booklahver:
I guess you're right. The boss could have picked RTG and she didn't. It appears she must find him as doltish and cloying as I do.

Oh, and for the record, if SBD actually worked in my department instead of just being an unwelcome yet constant loitering fool from the department next door, I would have A) quit long ago, or B) gone Fight Club on his ass. Huzzah!

Tiny's in charge?

It's time to parrrrr-teee...!

This is where I run through the halls, arms flayling, while "That's the Way (Uh-hu, uh-hu) I Like It" plays in the background.

Where's the music coming from? I don't know...but, there would also be random pieces of paper (that were kicked up in my trail) floating around....
