Snazzy currency

I came across one of these new "westward bound" nickels yesterday and I must say---very cool (much better looking than the drawing above). The new nickel features a minimalist modern design and is quite pleasing to the eye. Good job, U.S. Treasury!

I've got one sitting on my desk as a bit of eyecandy. Who knew five cents could bring a smile? As for the buffalo portrait on the back--we definitely know he's a boyPosted by Hello

I'm with you, sister.

In fact, I obtained one of those new nickels today and I had a hard time giving it up for my Wendy's All White Meat Chicken Selects earlier this evening...

I DO think the portrait of Jefferson would look a lot more modern and dignified if he were to sport Terminator style sun glasses and the phrase "I need your clothes, boots and your motorcycle..." underneath it.

And furthermore...thank god they did away with Monticello! It's about time they put that gaudy display of 18th century neoclassicism to rest!

Buffalo's are a lot more... cuddly...and tasty.

Did I mention that the nickel I had was also quite shiny?

I like things that shine.

Well, don't get too attached to it, darlin'---the 'traditional' nickels are going to be minted again in 2006. Monticello might be down, but she ain't out.

As for your accessory/textual suggestions for the coin, I LIKEY!

In fact, why not go ahead and just go all out and put Ah-nuld on the nickel? I mean, he managed to get himself elected into the highest office of 'Kellyfornya' after all... Of course, he'd be minted as his Terminator character.

I forgot to ask---were there any fingers in your chicken fingers?
